OUR IDENTITY

  1. We are worshipping people, intimate in our relationship with God and committed to placing Him in the highest place above all else. "And God spoke these words: 'I am the Lord your God...you shall have no other gods before me'... Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only." Exodus 1a, 3, Matthew 4: 1b

  2. We walk in relationship with one another and with other members of the body of Christ. "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you Greater Love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command" John15: 12-13 "Just as each one of this has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many from one body and each member belongs to all the others." Romans 12:4-5

  3. We are preparing the next generation to fulfill its prophetic destiny. "we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord his power and the wonders he has done... he commanded our forefathers to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children 78:4b, 5b-6

  4. We offer opportunities for the maturing and the equipping of the believers. "...to prepare God's people for works of service so that the Body of Christ may be built up until we all reach the unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ; The we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead speaking the truth in Love, we will in all things grow up in Him who is, the Head, that is Christ" Eph. 4:12-15

  5. We are sending forth missionaries as lights to the nations of the world. "... become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life" Philippians 2:15-16a

  6. We are charged to be a blessing to Bolton, the place where God has established us. "...seek the peace and prosperity of the city, to which I have carried you...Pray to the Lord for it, because it prospers, you will prosper. Jeremiah 29:7

  7. We are committed to sharing Christ with loving boldness and courage to the unsaved world around us. "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you" Matthew 28:1-2

  8. We steward our resources with integrity to meet needs of our fellowship and the surrounding community. "Remember this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you abound in every good work... This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people, but is overflowing in many expressions of thanks to Gog because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else." 2 Corinthians 9:"6-8, 12-13
